Landazabal (GSK): "Prevention 2.0 to face demographic challenge"

"It is not enough to have a healthy lifestyle and play sports regularly, we need to adopt innovative measures that aim for lifelong protection"
"It is not enough to have a healthy lifestyle and exercise regularly. We must be aware that we need to take responsibility for adopting innovative prevention measures that focus on lifelong protection." This is what Fabio Landazabal, president and CEO of Gsk Italia, said today in Rome at the meeting 'Demography, a pact between generations', for the Adnkronos Q&A series of meetings, at the Palazzo dell'Informazione.
"We must be aware that a very important demographic change is taking place in Italy - he underlines - and for this reason it is essential that we rethink prevention by aiming for what I call 'prevention 2.0', where healthy lifestyles are combined with public health choices that - taking advantage of the innovative vaccines that we have available to prevent major diseases and screening for the early identification of pathologies - allow both not to burden the national health system and to remain active, thus contributing to the economic growth of the country".
"In this way, with a more updated and modern prevention plan - Landazabal is convinced - we will have the ability to take charge of the problem of the active aging of the population and face the demographic challenge that Italy is experiencing".
